About the Project

This project has been funded by JISC and project partners to conduct mass digitization of primary sources relating to World War One from the Libraries, Special Collections and Archives of Wales. Material in this digital archive has been contributed by partners in Higher Education institutions, local archives and records offices. Community generated content was also collected at workshops run by the People's Collection Wales.

The project was launched in October 2013 and will be sustained by The National Library of Wales as a permanent and growing archive of the sources relating to the First World War as it affected Wales. Access to the material is free of charge for research and education.
